LEED® SYSTEM
LEED is an internationally recognised green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED provides building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.
A green roof with the Igniagreen system provides LEED points in the following categories:
LEED BD&C – Building Design and Construction
Restoration of the habitat that existed prior to building.
Installation of outdoor canopies with a green roof.
Reduction of runoff water.
Reduction of heat-island effect.
Creation of spaces with horticulture therapy or other gardens of clinical or special use.
Reduction of water consumption thanks to the tank and efficient irrigation system.
Modules manufactured using recycled plastic.
LEED HOMES – Residential buildings Design and Construction
Reduction of heat-island effect.
Reduction of runoff water.
Use of smart systems for irrigation management.
Use of collected rainwater thanks to the Igniagreen tank system.
LEED BO&M – Building Operation and Maintenance
Restoration of the habitat that existed prior to building.
Reduction of runoff water.
Reduction of heat-island effect.
BREEAM® SYSTEM
BREEAM® (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology) is the building sustainability assessment and certification method developed by the UK’s Building Research Establishment.
It promotes more sustainable building which translates into higher profits for the building constructor, operator and/or maintenance company; reduced environmental impacts and enhanced comfort and safety for everyone who lives, works in or uses the building.
It assesses impacts in 10 categories (Management, Health and Wellbeing, Energy, Transport, Water, Materials, Waste, Ecological Soil Use, Pollution, Innovation) and awards a final score after applying an environmental weighting system that considers the relative importance of each impact area. It covers the different phases of design, construction and use of buildings and has assessment and certification schemes in accordance with building type and use.
A green roof with the Igniagreen system provides BREEAM points in the following categories:
BREEAM Town planning
Reduction of runoff water.
Use of collected rainwater thanks to the Igniagreen tank system.
Reduction of heat-island effect.
Reduction in heating and air-conditioning energy costs due to building insulation.
Use of greywater for irrigation.
Creation of habitats for biodiversity.
Planting roofs with native flora.
Creation of green corridors.
System manufactured with recycled plastic.
BREEAM Residential buildings
Acoustic insulation.
Reduction in heating and air-conditioning energy costs due to building insulation.
Use of collected rainwater thanks to the Igniagreen tank system.
Drip irrigation.
Environmental impact reduction.
Reduction of runoff water.
BREEAM New-build properties
Acoustic insulation.
Reduction in heating and air-conditioning energy costs due to building insulation.
Water consumption reduction by harnessing excess rainwater.
Thermal insulation of the building.
Enhanced site footprint.
Reduction of runoff water.
