For flower and plant lovers, looking after a garden, kitchen garden, green roof or terrace is one of the most pleasurable hobbies there is. However, although on paper it may seem like a straightforward task, gardening requires time and dedication. It is essential to know how much water, light, fertiliser and nutrients each plant needs for optimum growth.

Although it is true that most of us can tell when a plant needs water because its leaves are starting to wither and the soil is dry, it is not so easy to judge when it is exposed to excess mineral salts or is lacking fertiliser. No matter how much time you spend in your green patch and how keen you are on plants, there are some things that cannot be seen by the naked eye.

Thanks to Ignio, this will now no longer be a problem. This smart sensor will display alerts and help in the daily care of your garden, whether you are at home or away.

The Ignio sensor sets a revolutionary milestone

We call this sensor the perfect keeper because it sees what we are unable to see. Visual alerts tell you about the state and specific needs of your plants. The following alerts can be enabled for display:

  • Lack of water. This appears when the humidity is lower than the level set by you. It shows you that your plants are thirsty.
  • Excess mineral salts. If this alert is displayed, lightly water the soil and take the reading again.
  • Lack of nutrients. If this alert appears, add fertiliser to the soil. Your plants will be grateful!
  • Frost. This icon lights up if the temperature drops to below 3 ºC. The solenoid valve shuts off, and all commands and alerts are blocked until the temperature rises to 4 ºC.

In addition, the Ignio sensor enables you to automate the watering system so that plants are watered depending on the level of humidity. This option will be particularly useful when you go away on holiday or for the weekend.
